Harmonizing one's life & spiritual consciousness is a process every soul undertakes. It is more of a metaphysical process than a physical process. The sage realizes his true self as he unravels the beads of his consciousness, every unravelling brining him closer to one supreme. Islamic lusterware produced between the 9th and the 14th centuries forms the key visual element in almost all of Salma’s paintings. She uses vegetal patterns and designs, merges and melts them to recreate imagery in various lusters with pieces and bits of calligraphy.
