Almudena - My portraits are an invitation to the unique perception of each one, but if I intend something with them is to suggest something more than an inert face. Lollipops talks about the spirit of those who have nothing and give you everything. I made this painting after my stay in Senegal, Africa, where I was able to immerse myself in the precious energy of the people there and learn things from them that are much more important than those taught in any university, human relations and the altruistic help of with each other.
